I find myself in South Surrey more and more lately. I’m good with it, that’s my hometown! And seeing people who went to school with myself and my sister is always fun! This family is so cute. Oh wow. I took one look at Jayden and knew he was an old soul. Dustin looks exactly like his dad, it’s unbelievable! And when Heather came down the stairs with little Wyatt, he was a snuggly little bundle of cuteness! And Heather looked amazing! No way did she give birth just days before. When I told my older sister that, she said “yeah, Heather is permanently cute”. Truth!
We had a relaxed, lifestyle inspired family session with a little focus on Wyatt in their home. Wyatt stayed WIDE awake the entire time. I decided not to push it, and to make the most of the wakeful moments! Besides, baby sneezes are cute.

I am currently WAY behind in blogging…but I had to put some of this session up because I really really loved it. I took a lifestyle approach to my newborn session with little L. He was an angel, and really ridiculously perfect. I was so pleased with every single image from their session, I’m ready to give this approach to newborn photography a go! Here are just a few of their photos.

Well, one of my favorite clients was so thrilled to find she was pregnant with her second child. Her little girl Kalina is such a doll, she couldn’t wait to give Kalina a sibling. Everything in the pregnancy was going well, and at about 19 weeks she had her routine ultrasound. SURPRISE!!!! There’s TWO babies in there. Amy and John were shocked, a little nervous, and very excited. They soon found out they were having two girls! This would make John very outnumbered in the house, but they couldn’t wait to meet their baby girls.

In November the Wasney’s had a family shoot with me, and Amy’s belly was rapidly growing. I couldn’t wait to hear of the twin’s arrival, and on February 26 I saw on Amy’s facebook page that they had arrived. All was well with the two angels, and Kalina was THRILLED to be a big sister to two babies. I soon after messaged Amy to tell her I’d love to shoot the twins when they were home and settled.

When I arrived at their home in South Surrey the twins were laying on the couch, Addison was wide awake and Makayla was fast asleep. I wanted them both asleep and this proved to be a difficult task (of course) but we managed some individual shots and some together, and then soon after I got a shot or two of them with big sister, who is SO proud. I really enjoyed getting to know the babes. The best thing about them is that they look totally different. Addison is all Amy, and Makayla is all John. I can’t wait to watch them grow.

Again I have to thank Kim from Eternally Hooked for these gorgeous crochet items!

Addison on the left, Makayla on the right. When I showed my husband this image (he knows John from childhood) his reaction was: wow, the one on the right looks EXACTLY like John.

Back in November I did shots of baby D in mommy’s tummy, you can see them here. We were all sooo excited to see this little one, and find out if she was a boy or girl. I am pretty sure in that maternity post I predicted girl, and I was right!!!

Angie insisted that D slept well around 10:30. She was proven wrong when D was wide awake when I got there. We fed her a lot, and with a bit of patience we got her fast asleep on my bean bag. I started snapping away, and she slept like an angel. Angie watched over me as I worked and practically cried at how angelic baby D looked. Okay she actually DID tear up a bit. Angie is sooooo madly in love with her little girl. It is so endearing! Unfortunately daddy was away on a little boys’ trip (must be nice) so we are saving our family shots for when D is a bit older.

The day before D’s shoot, I scored some wicked crocheted hats from Kim of Eternally Hooked. Click the name to head over to her Etsy page! They looked absolutely DARLING!
