I’m going to go ahead and sound like a broken record here and say I’ve been looking forward to this wedding all year. The reason for this one is that I had spent some time with Candice and Sean first when we had our meeting to get to know each other, second with Candice when they put their deposit down, and third at their engagement session. Over these three meetings, I more or less fell in love with this incredible couple. I think I already gushed about them in their engagement session post. Their wedding day was no disappointment, I loved meeting their friends and family, and spending the entire day with them. What a beautiful wedding it was, these two are definitely meant to be together, and a perfect match on all levels.
Their wedding was held at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown, and we scooted over (via Aquabus) to Granville Island in between ceremony and reception for the portraits. Turk, their beloved pup, even managed to meet us on Granville Island for some portraits. If you’re wondering why it looks like Candice and Sean got married twice, you’re not seeing things. Their commissioner was late for the ceremony, so Candice’s uncle stepped in to perform, however, the commissioner wanted to be sure that all legalities were covered, and performed another shorter ceremony at the beginning of their reception. This way we were SURE that their marriage was legal. Definitely a story to tell for many years to come. It all worked out in the end and it was a perfect day.
Special thanks go out to my second shooter for the day, Ashley Burnstad, who handled all the guys getting ready shots (check out Sean’s propeller cufflinks!), and really blew me away with her natural talent. Can’t wait to work with you again Ashley!
